The TRAVELER

MY GLOBE-TROTTING FONDNESS

I have been fascinated by the world outside my own for a s long as I can remember.

AS A YOUNG GIRL… I was awed by the grandness of the numerous pictures of landscapes and landmarks that I saw on glossy book pages. It never tired me thumbing through leaf after leaf of beautiful layouts of different places around the world. Most of our earliest collections were saliva-stained yellowed by the passing years of many endless and repeated explorations.

AS A STUDENT… I’ve vicariously been to almost all over the world through reading books. Through reading, I can picture in my mind all the significant places, concurrences and occurrences that I’ve read from the pages of the books and between the lines. The experience, though lacking major points, has been a great substitute for my prolific soul.

AS AN EDUCATOR… and now that I have the means to pay for my propensity, I got the chance to see some of those landscapes and landmarks that I once saw and admired on books. I was able to see myself the culture of the world I teach. And had the chance too, to breathe the air of its roots and lived even for a brief moment with its people.

NOW.. I teach my students partly based on books and partially based on my personal experiences.
